  • Equipment Order Program – 2022

We will be running our equipment order program again this year. have had many people in the centre this year asking if they can buy skis, and while we haven’t been able to say yes this year, we put in place a plan to help people get skis next year.

The Valley Outdoor Centre is a Rossignol dealer. We can now pre-order equipment for next year, which should be shipped in the fall. Due to shipping challenges this year, we can not guarantee a delivery date. We are going to offer a limited number of ski packages to our members at a very competitive price if we can place the order before mid-February 2022.

You can browse the packages we have on offer here. All of our prices are fully inclusive of all applicable taxes.

And you can place an order by completing the order form, and e-mailing to [email protected], or dropping it off at the centre during operating hours.

We are not a retail outlet, and are run by volunteers, and as such there will be no returns or exchanges. If you are unsure of size, please come into the lodge and try on a pair of rental boots. Sizing charts are available at the end of the document linked to above.

We will be requiring that all orders are accompanied by a 50% deposit, and that you pre-purchase your membership for the Valley Outdoor Centre for Winter 2022/2023 at the same rates as this year. An invoice for the order will be e-mailed to you for payment online after you submit your order.

If you have questions about equipment, please e-mail us at [email protected]

  • Jackrabbit Program – Starting in January 2022

This year we are going to be offering Nordiq Canada’s Jackrabbit program at the Valley Outdoor Centre for the first time, run by our newly certified Nordiq Canada coaches – Brian McCain and Laura Brennan.

As this is our first year, we will be offering two classes for different age groups. Jackrabbit 1 will be open for children born in 2015 to 2017, while Jackrabbit 2 will be for children born in 2012 to 2014.

The cost for the program is just $20 per child for 6 weeks of instruction, and includes a Nordiq Canada tuque. Participants must also have a Season Pass for the Valley Outdoor Centre for insurance purposes. This fee includes all equipment rentals (skis, boots and poles).

Lessons will be every Sunday morning at 11am for an hour, and begin on January 16th, and continue until February 20th.

Class sizes will be limited to 8 students so register early!

    Volunteers Needed

If you’re interested in volunteering to assist with lessons, please e-mail us. We need on-snow helpers, as well as people to prepare the hot chocolate after our sessions to warm everyone up! Our Nordiq Canada certified coaches will be running the sessions, but we can always use a few assistants

  • 2021 Volunteer Task List

As we prepare for the 2021/2022 winter season, we have a number of jobs that need doing at the Valley Outdoor Centre. We’d love your help to get these done. If you are interested, take a look at the Google Sheet at the link below and have a look at the list of jobs that need to be completed. Some of these jobs need tools and safety equipment, while others just need you to talk a walk through the trails and pick up debris that has fallen on the trail.

Once you’ve done one, please come back and put your name and the date next to it so that we know it is done (or send us an e-mail at [email protected] and we’ll mark it off)

If you have any questions about the tasks, please e-mail [email protected] – we’d be happy to explain what needs to be done.
