A short update heading into winter.
The Valley Outdoor Centre will be fully operational this winter.
As of result of previous thefts of our grooming equipment and damage to our centre, we made the decision to relocate our facility. We are now located at 43 Rim Road, just past Wiebe’s Home Hardware. This location, adjacent to the Brunway depot, offers higher visibility due to Brunway’s 24/7 operations throughout the winter months. We have installed solar panels, and lighting to keep our facility illuminated after dark.
We are just in the process of finalizing our new trails to connect this new location to our old trail system (it’s about 500m to connect them), and will open for season passes shortly. Thanks to our insurance, the provincial Trail Infrastructure Fund and some generous private donations, we have been able to purchase a grooming machine for the winter.
We intend to be open on weekends for rental ski and snowshoe equipment, and to once again host our popular mid-week night skiing. We intend to keep our trails regularly groomed through a combination of volunteers and paid staff to make the winter experience as enjoyable as possible.Looking forward to a good winter ski season, and thanks for everyone’s support!
